Tired of DT12 Surprises?
Now You Can Quickly and Accurately Test Broadcast-Standard DT12 Cables and Fanouts

SKOKIE, IL (February 23, 2007) The Model 92 Cable Assembly Test Unit from Studio Technologies allows technical personnel to quickly and accurately confirm DT12 performance. The unit verifies that all signal paths are fully functional, minimizing the chance of cable related on-air surprises.

In addition to testing cables assemblies with two 37-pin connectors, the Model 92 also tests “fanouts.” This distinctive feature supports cable assemblies that have an FK37-type connector on one end and multiple 3-pin XLR-type connectors on the other.

Simplifying the Challenge of End-to-End Testing

For permanent installations or venues where portable cabling has already been “run” in preparation for a broadcast event, two Model 92s can be used together to perform end-to-end testing.

Field or Shop Applications

The Model 92 supports testing in either a channel or pin mode. For live sports broadcast events, channel mode offers fast “go/no go” verification of cable performance. Technical personnel responsible for fabricating or repairing cables will appreciate the pin mode’s detailed test results. Whichever mode is selected, simple test result messages are displayed, allowing problems to be quickly spotted and corrected.

Built to Withstand the Rigors of the Field

Housed in a rugged aluminum enclosure, the Model 92 DT12 Tester features solid-state LED displays and ESD-protected inputs and outputs. An internal rechargeable 12-volt sealed battery provides power for more than eight hours of continuous operation.
