Overview

The Model 5152, in addition to the Model 5150's video generation capability, allows four stereo digital audio signals to be embedded into the SDI signal. The eight channels of audio will always be embedded, whether or not an external SDI source is present. The four digital audio inputs are 75 ohms, unbalanced, and follow the AES3 standard. They are compatible with the digital audio output provided by the Model 5110 Dual Mic/Line Input Module. Up to four Model 5110 modules can be directly connected. The Model 5152's audio inputs are intended for use with standard 24-bit, 48 kHz digital audio signals but the advanced sample-rate-converter input circuitry ensures excellent performance with a wide range of signals. Note that while the custom video image cannot be generated at an SD-SDI rate, the Model 5152 will correctly embed signals at SD-SDI (standard definition) rates and format. Eight signal-present LEDs are provided for operator confirmation and troubleshooting assistance.
